A big challenge in any Content Delivery Network is to accurately detect the user's exact location (topological location on the Internet). Traditional methods of geolocating users with the help of DNS servers have significantly improved, but that's not enough to implement an integrated and sustainable structure.
ArvanCloud's CDN is one of the very few in the world that acts as an integrated system based on Anycast routing technology, not only in the Domain Name Resolution layer (DNS), but also in the service layer. By this method, ArvanCloud’s IP addresses are simultaneously advertised around the world and each user will connect to the closest edge server at the their attempt.
Big websites use more than just one server, and distributing the load between different servers is complicated. Particularly when these servers are scattered at various locations, Multi-Site Load Balancing (or MSLB) is needed.
ArvanCloud's CDN automatically distributes traffic at the first layer (users' connections to ArvanCloud’s edge servers), and can also distribute edge server requests to your origin servers intelligently. But if you're already using more than one server or datacenter for hosting and don't want to change stuff, don't worry, you can keep your current structure in order to reduce risk of errorwhen using our CDN.
You can also define more than one server group and in each group, define an arbitrary number of different servers with different weights and manage them. Also, the number of errors for decommissioning a server can be specified in order to redirect immediately and provide service from other available nearby servers.
Load distribution is adjustable; we do intermittent load distribution, or based on the clients address, or based on minimum connections to one server, or load distribution based on geographical location. For example, in geographical load-balancing, you can adjust it so that all the edge servers in one country connect to a specific server, and all the edge servers outside connect to another. And if any of these sources become unavailable, they will be immediately replaced with others.
