Requirements For Activating ArvanCloud CDN and Cloud Icon
In case you have transferred your website over to ArvanCloud and done the necessary DNS changes, you need to go through the following six steps to prevent any technical issues before clicking on the Cloud icon in the Manage Records section under the CDN menu.
1. Making Sure ArvanCloud’s IPs are Whitelisted in the Firewall Settings
Once the Cloud Icon is activated, your host’s origin server will only communicate with ArvanCloud’s edge servers. Please note that from that point on your users’ requests will not be sent to your host’s origin server but rather to ArvanCloud’s edge servers. This is why it is vital to whitelist ArvanCloud’s IP addresses on your host’s firewall or security equipment; in not doing so, you run the chance of these security measures considering requests sent from these IPs to be considered as attacks and subsequently block them. 2. Make Sure You Have The Right HTTPS Settings on ArvanCloud
If you have requested an SSL certificate for your domain and installed it on your host’s origin server, then also make sure to add the certificate (.crt) and private key (.key) files in the HTTPS settings under the CDN menu on ArvanCloud’s user dashboard. If you have not requested any certificates and plan to use ArvanCloud’s free certificate, then you need to do that before enabling the Cloud Icon. However, it is essential to highlight here that the certificate will only be issued for you if the term “Active” is present in front of your domain name in the DNS Records of the user dashboard under CDN (meaning that the NS changes have been made successfully).
To get your free ArvanCloud certificate, navigate to the CDN area in your user dashboard, go to the HTTPS Settings, and enable the “ArvanCloud HTTPS Certificate” option.
3. Making Sure Your Port Numbers are Correct
Your origin server’s connection to ArvanCloud’s edge servers is, by default, either based on HTTP or HTTPS depending on the user’s request, so please remember to check if you have closed port 80 or 443 on your origin server before enabling the Cloud Icon. Navigate to the HTTPS Settings in the CDN menu on ArvanCloud panel and choose a protocol whose port is open on your origin server from the “ArvanCloud Communication Protocol With Origin Servers” panel.

4. Making Sure Security Settings are Correct
Take care before enabling the WAF service since it would be for the best to first activate it for a short time on Detection Mode and then make changes to the WAF rules based on the received reports. Please take a look at the article below for more information:

5. Making Sure the Rules Set are Correct
For example, make sure to define a rule to exempt some of your website’s pages form caching in the Page Rules section under the CDN menu on ArvanCloud’s user dashboard. Note that, by default, only static content of your website is cached on AvarnCloud’s edge server. You need to define a new rule if you wish to store or not store specific content. 6. Final Check of Your Website’s Status on the Edge Servers
Before setting ArvanCloud’s NS records on your host’s website, make sure there are no errors when loading the website and that your content is cached correctly on ArvanCloud’s edge servers.
